Families Forward uses these tools to lift Northwest Pasadena's most vulnerable families out of poverty and illiteracy. As a member of the Board of Families Forward, I've seen firsthand how the organization's programs make a lasting impact on children, families, and our community as a whole.
That's why I have personally committed to raising $2,500.00 to Families Forward's literacy programs through the Ready to Learn Campaign.
Please join me during the month of April to combat illiteracy and help me reach my goal!
Your donation supports school-readiness and adult education programs for 121 children and their parents. This two-generation approach is proven to increase the education level of a mother and thereby significantly increase her child's future educational success.
Your donation will fund the following activities at Families Forward:
- One month of early literacy education for 20 pre-kindergarteners: $1,000.00
- An Early Readers' Book Club for 20 preschoolers: $500.00
- A family literacy class for 10 parents: $250.00
- Ten children's books for families' home libraries: $100.00
- Two adult education textbooks: $50.00
- A parent-child interactive literacy activity: $25.00
