"Donating in honor of CP's birthday!"
Families Forward Learning Center (formerly known as Mothers' Club), prepares vulnerable families living in isolation and poverty to succeed in school and in life through two-generation learning programs, including early childhood education, parent education, community-building, and more.
Experts agree that high-quality preschool is one of the wisest investments we can make. Children who attend preschool are more likely to graduate from high school and college, less likely to be held back or placed in special education, and perform better on standardized tests. Why? Because they start school Ready to Learn. Families Forward teaches young children the building blocks for school success, including early language, math, and reading skills, as well as the social-emotional tools they need to thrive in an elementary school classroom.
However, it's not just preschool that makes the difference. Parents are a child's first and most important teachers, and parent engagement is a critical factor in student success. Here, parents learn how to be active advocates for and participants in their children's learning, and have opportunities to build parenting skills and further their own education. Side-by-side, at-risk parents and young children learn the skills they need for significant, long-term change and a promising future.
