Champions of Early Childhood Education
Families Forward's Teen Leads: Each year, nearly 300 dedicated young people spend hundreds of hours volunteering at Families Forward. The Teen Lead Program was formed two years ago to create leadership opportunities for our bright young volunteers. Our "Teen Leads" have inspired us at every turn, taking on mentorship roles, fundraising, and helping launch new programs. We commend their ingenuity, enthusiasm, and commitment to creating change in their community.
2018-2019 Teen Leads: Cleo Bluthenthal, Sosi Day, Helen Deverell, Gracie Gelinas, Eli Grossman, Mia McKinney, Olivia Molina-Kong, Riley Nice, and Gabriel Wallen.
Judy and Randy Wilson have been stalwart friends to Families Forward for nearly two decades, providing deeply impactful leadership and support during times of critical growth and change for our organization. Judy served on the Board of Directors from 2004-2008, including two years as Board President and Chair of the Capital Campaign to purchase our permanent home on North Fair Oaks Avenue. Active community members, Judy and Randy work tirelessly to better the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. We are grateful to Judy and Randy for their many years of dedication to Families Forward.
Pacific Clinics is a leader in advocating for high-quality early childhood education and social services in the Greater Los Angeles Region. As our Early Head Start partner, Pacific Clinics is instrumental in supporting our programs that provide services to children ages 0-3. We thank Pacific Clinics for their long-term partnership and devotion to our community's youngest learners.
Pasadena Office of the Young Child: In 2015, the Pasadena City Council passed a resolution that by 2025, Pasadena will be known as an Early Learning City. The Office of the Young Child was formed to help bring the resolution to fruition, focusing on maximizing resources and creating a strong, integrated network of service providers throughout the city. Families Forward is proud to partner with the Office of the Young Child and commends the City of Pasadena for its commitment to families and their young children.
Proceeds benefit Families Forward Learning Center's two-generation learning programs for disadvantaged families in Pasadena.
